Acumera Certified as a Verifone Managed Network Service Provider for Verifone Commander® Point-of-Sale Systems

As a Verifone-certified MNSP, Acumera provides PCI-compliant, high-speed remote support to Verifone Commander petroleum retail customers.

Acumera, a managed security services provider to retailers and restaurants, announced that they have received certification by Verifone as a Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP) to support Verifone’s Commander point-of-sale (POS) system. Acumera’s advanced security device and AcuLink™ Commander Remote Access were successfully tested and launched at six Jacksons Food Stores locations across Idaho to replace the Verifone Enhanced Zone Router (EZR). Acumera’s MNSP solution provides PCI-compliant remote access between the Verifone Commander POS systems and Verifone’s internal support network.

As part of the certification process, Acumera’s security device and AcuLink Commander Remote Access Service were tested in the Verifone Quality Assurance (QA) lab, and at Jackson’s live pilot sites. The certification process consists of a set of rigorous security and functionality requirements to ensure smooth and scalable operation of the Verifone Commander at customer sites.

“I’m happy to replace the EZR with Acumera’s solution because I can eliminate additional hardware in my back-office and use Acumera as both my Verifone MNSP and as my perimeter security partner,” says Patrick Abernathy, Director of IT, Jacksons Food Stores. “Acumera’s platform simplifies and secures my support connection to Verifone and gives us visibility and control over every network device across all of our locations.”

“When Verifone support connects to the customer’s Commander POS, they use AcuLink Commander remote access,” explains Dirk Heinen, CEO of Acumera. “The connection gives Verifone support automated controls to eliminate persistent connections between the POS and the remote support team. This functionality is essential for remaining PCI compliant during remote support connections.” AcuLink Commander meets PCI DSS requirements 12.3.8 and PCI 12.3.9 (click here for details about AcuLink Remote Access and PCI DSS requirements).

Acumera’s MNSP solution provides advanced levels of security and networking services to improve C-store operations including managed firewall service, WAN Failover, broadband service management, software-defined VPNs, and 24x7x365 technical support.
